Installation & replacement

Replacing a furnace or air conditioner is one of the larger things a homeowner has to decide about. We walk through what the house needs, what the options cost, and what the work involves before anything is ordered.

What this covers

Installation covers removing the old equipment, setting and connecting the new system, and adapting the plenum, ductwork, venting, gas and condensate connections so the whole system works together. The equipment is only part of it — how it is connected is what determines whether it runs well for years.

When homeowners call

Situations we see most.

  • The system is old enough that repairs are no longer worth putting money into.
  • A repair quote is approaching the cost of replacement.
  • Some rooms have never heated or cooled the way the rest of the house does.
  • You are adding air conditioning to a home that has never had it.
  • You are buying or selling and the system needs to be sorted out.

A yearly check on each side of the system — heating before the cold months, cooling before the warm ones — is the usual rhythm for residential equipment. Filters generally need attention more often than that, depending on the filter and the house.
